HEALTH BENEFITS

Powerful!

1 Serving of Whole Leaf Matcha is nutritionally equivalent to 10 cups of green tea.

Cup of Matcha

Matcha contains a wealth of antioxidants, amino acids, chlorophyll, and other vitamins and nutrients. Depending on the variety and preparation of a steeped tea, only 10-20% of the nutrients are consumed, while 100% are consumed when drinking matcha. Matcha is therefore a nutritional powerhouse with tremendous benefits: 100% pure leaf = 100% nutrition + 100% natural energy.

Grades & Quality of Matcha

Calling matcha ceremonial grade isn’t just a fancy label to make you pay a premium - it is a label that matcha has to earn. WholeLeaf Matcha provides you with high-quality ceremonial grade matcha because it’s the best kind of matcha you can have: originating in Uji, Kyoto Japan, shade-grown (allowing for its intense green color), lightly sweet (a product of growing in shade and an indicator of L-theanine) and distinct in its texture (a silky powder that is incredibly fine.) So, the next time you see matcha and it has a strange yellow or brown tinge, keep in mind, it’s probably not ceremonial grade.

Powerful Antioxidants

The outstanding amount of antioxidants present in matcha is largely owed to catechins, a type of antioxidant, and matcha specifically is known for its incredibly high concentration of epigallocatechin gallate (EGCg), an antioxidant that has been lauded for being most effective at combating various kinds of cancers. Because matcha has so much of it (up to 100 times more than other teas on available) it is an effective aid in an anti-cancer lifestyle - and who wouldn’t like to stay cancer free?

Matcha vs Coffee

If you’re in need of a caffeine boost for morning, noon or night, matcha can help give you a steady, clean boost of energy - matcha does indeed have less caffeine - but the caffeine that is present burns slowly in the body. Instead of the jittery boost coffee gives, matcha caffeine is slowly metabolized by the body (because the caffeine itself binds to the huge amount of catechins present in matcha) producing a pleasant, low intensity buzz.
